(re)Introducing Chelsea!
We are excited to finally have Chelsea back with us here at May Flowers! Chelsea has technically worked here since 2013 - she worked in the shop during the summers and wrote blogs during the school year while she was studying at Berry College. She graduated in May and is back in Chattanooga to work full time with our team.
Chelsea hates writing about herself in third person, so she'll stop that now. Although my degrees are in English Creative Writing and Spanish, I've worked with flowers since I was in high school and can't imagine my life without them. I love working at flower shops because I get the opportunity to be creative in so many different ways through writing blogs, designing bouquets, and helping brides imagine their beautiful wedding days.
My favorite flowers are always changing, but I am particularly enjoying working with different kinds of greenery right now. Today my favorites are maiden hair fern and silver dollar eucalyptus; yesterday they were bupleurum and agonis. I also love incorporating berries and other fruits into arrangements. I really like to learn about new flowers - their history, their meaning, and new ways to use them in arrangements. Unlike everyone else, I don't mind washing buckets - my least favorite chore in the shop is designing corsages.
Weddings are one of my very favorite things in the world so I couldn't possibly pick a favorite part. I love all the details from the invitation typeface to the recessional song and everything in between. I'm really glad to be back!
